@Abyss-d1g The sky is blue, water is wet, women have secrets, and Finland has always been a target for Russian aggression.

@marynamalitskaya3534 NATO is defensive, you silly girl.

It would've been much faster still if Turkey hadn't played silly buggers.

@zoolkhan As in "Russia may start a war against Finland, but Finland will Finnish it"?

@Abyss-d1g I have a degree in history, sport. You're spouting nonsense. In accepting Finnish independence, Lenin was faced with a fait accompli. Try to get some academic studies under your belt before you get back to me.

@cemo3292 Scurry back into your cave, troll.

@mickeyvd1979 Wonderful -- we'll leave you in peace, and you'll return the favour. We couldn't wish for anything more. But what about Russia's non-NATO neighbours, how can Russia be made to leave them in peace as well? Wait, I think I've got the answer...

@Abyss-d1g Aw, that was a flaccid response. A missing article, too.

@bobminon439 I assure you, Helsinki hasn't moved an inch away from Saint Petersburg, before or after the Winter War. Both are on the same tectonic plate, too.

@marynamalitskaya3534 It was defensive all right, as in putting a stop to rump--Yugoslavia's (read: Serbia's) blood-soaked ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. What did Russia do to resolve the conflict? The best Russia could do was to abstain in the relevant UNSC votes. Complete inaction, in other words.

A panicky Putin must be racking his brain how he could still bribe Hungary and Turkey.

@henriikkak2091 I think the gloves are coming off. NATO can''t accept much more nonsense from Turkey, or its credibility will suffer. Turkey will come around. Either Erdogan loses the election, or being the bazaar merchant that he is, Erdogan will realise he can't squeeze a better deal from NATO.

@Hans Jackson NATO's Partnership for Peace is not a good argument. Russia, too, is a PfP member. To this day.
