@nigeljohnson9820 You don't understand. Unlike the UK, the EU is not dishing out money to allow its members to live beyond their means. The EU's poorer members get cohesion funding for improvements to their infrastructure and essential services to bring them on par with the others. In other words, they have to work for it. If you don't want Bosnia, maybe Turkey? There's a lot of anti-EU sentiment there after we closed the door on them. You would have a common hobby...

@nigeljohnson9820 Corruption within the EU is at the national level, where the EU has no jurisdiction. We have all sorts, including a generous helping of the least corrupt countries in the world. Turkey's ace equally affects the UK, or even more so. Brexit or no Brexit, illegal immigrants lust for the UK owing to your huge black job market -- the biggest in Europe -- and hamstrung immigration authorities.
