  1. That's an easy one. Because Ukraine is subjected to an illegal war of aggession. Ukraine is flouting the core principles of the EU. If Hungary were applying for EU membership now, it wouldn't make the grade.

  3.  @yohok5  OK, that was a non sequitur. Besides, Turkey has all but given up on trying to fulfil the Copenhagen criteria. Rule of law, the present point of contention in Hungary's case, went out of the window in Turkey after the coup attempt. Erdogan won't let it back in either.
