  4. For your info, the US are a beginner when it comes to losing wars in Afghanistan. Russia has lost no less than three wars there, in 1926, 1929 and 1989. You'd think Russia would learn from its mistakes, but noooo...

  5. Like Syria till recently, Libya is stuck with a frozen civil war. Russia's favoured warlord, Khalifa Haftar, may well face the same fate as Assad. Interestingly, his main opponents, the GNA, are backed by Turkey. If Russia wants to build more bases on shaky ground, Libya is certainly the place to be.
