  3.  @spacecube8561  Check your sources. Weeks at worst. This year wasn't a first, neither was last year or the year before that. You're wrong about the once-per-day outage of solar power. Our polar night lasts weeks on end. On the plus side, the sun doesn't go under for weeks on end in the summer. Consider yourself hoisted by your own petard.
