@tokajileo5928 Russia isn't fine. How do you think the gas-station-masquerading-as-a-country will manage when demand for oil and gas inevitably plummets, and Saudi Arabia alone, where oil practically bubbles up from the ground, can meet global demand?

Yeah, but presidents-for-life and some such are more a Russian thing. Not popular at all in the West. We're of the opinion that politicians and a baby's diapers are alike. Both need to be changed frequently, and for the same reason. The Russians apparently don't mind the smell.

True dat, and the Soviet Union gave oodles of weapons to North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, but I can't recall the USA pitifully whimpering about it.

To be honest, Lavrov was not informed, as Putin treats him more like a spokesperson than a foreign minister. Rumour has it that Lavrov was none to pleased when the "SMO" broke out and wanted to expedite his retirement, but Putin made him a monetary offer he couldn't refuse.
