  1. Don't you realise the EU will retaliate in equal measure? The EU is not some poorly diversified economy/gas station masquerading as a country like Russia, but quite the opposite. Besides, Trump needs an ally in the EU if he's going to tackle China's unfair trade practices for reals. A two-front trade war is going to hurt the US as much -- or more -- as its intended targets.
