  1. Are you a Yank? It would go a long way to explain the far-right rhetoric and above all, the ignorance. Spain has never been a net contributor to the EU budget. Germany is a net contributor, but it's accompanied by ten or so other EU members. Incidentally, the excess goes towards helping the former Communist bloc members recover from nearly half a century of economic mismanagement. So rather, we're negating the effects of Communism. The Brits apparently want to opt out. It's their loss.

As to calling you by your first name, you'll have to take that up with the Youtube web developers. I simply hit the relevant reply button, which I see you managed as well, despite being the n00b that you are. Yes, do yourself a favour and leave, because Youtube is too dangerous a place for the likes of you. The risk of having your feelings hurt is just too great. I'll wait for the karma police to come and arrest me.

  5. It's not Brit tourists who're being thrown under the bus. It's hundreds of thousands of pensioner expats who'll have no choice but to return to the UK. Arranging housing for them alone will be a nightmare.

  6. You're confused. The Catalonians have no beef with the EU. If -- or when -- they gain their independence, their first order of business is to apply for EU membership. Just like Scotland and Northern Ireland.
