  1. China should care. Contracts between Chinese and foreign companies typically conform to Hong Kong law. If the latter lose confidence in the legal impartiality of Hong Kong, their Chinese counterparts will miss out on international business opportunities. Since China relies on export for economic growth, it doesn't bode well.
