@Ford Prefect Well, to put matters into perspective, the BEF didn't fare all that well either against Hitler's juggernaut in *1940. Like the French, you were still fighting the last war. Hadn't Göring thought too highly of himself, Dunkirk would've been a complete and utter defeat.

@EnigmaOK I agree, the UK will never rejoin the EU. However, Scotland, Wales and -- last but not least -- England will quietly form an orderly queue. NI will slip in through the Irish backdoor, of course.

@Rumpelstyltskin But Brexit is a totally different beast for NI than it is for the rest of the UK. If the UK and the EU fail to sign a trade agreement by January 2021, it means that NI will have to trade on WTO terms with Great Britain.

@Rumpelstyltskin I hear UK businesses, especially those with a lot of EU exports, are contemplating Brexodus again. NI doesn't seem like a bad halfway house.

@civis.revixit You nuking Strasbourg would helpfully stop the European Parliament from convening in Strasbourg, but I'm afraid the piqued French would exact their pound of flesh. And you'd run out of nukes before they would.

@civis.revixit No you won't, just like the French won't knock out your nuking abilities. ICBM-carrying nuclear subs are as good as untraceable.

@civis.revixit Since you share your Trident IIs with the US, you may need to ask the Yanks nicely if you could please nuke France. They may not agree if they haven't had that European holiday yet. And I'm sure London is on their itinerary, too. A smouldering heap just isn't the same.
