Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Countries warn of economic fallout from US President Trump's 25% tariff on steel imports" video.
Truth be told, doing the opposite is a challenge. Products that we associate with the US are made elsewhere. For instance, if you're buying a Tesla in Europe, it's made either in Germany or China. The Americans have dug a hole for themselves, and they're blaming us for tumbling in.

@jenalatz3589 Sure, but not for us.

@pedroangelo9367 I wouldn't be too sure of that either. Multinationals often direct profits to offshore subsidiaries, where they're kept till a US president declares a repatriation tax holiday, which amount to a uge tax break for them. Yup, Trump is their man.

Diabolically, how so? And unlike the Americans, we make competitive products. Instead of outsourcing manufacturing to low-cost countries, we still make them ourselves, too.

@ossianx8752 I see you're using the EU as a catch-all. Admittedly, some EU countries have suffered on account of their poor choices in terms of energy and housing, but others, who've made better choices, are none the worse for wear. I get the impression that the former is true in your case, and rather than taking a cold, hard look in the mirror, you prefer to blame the EU.

Trump seems to have a started a Trade World War, and he's fighting it on all fronts at the same time. Trumponomics...
