  2.  @georgeaugustorodrigues7058  Norway has an exceedingly high GDP per capita owing to their oil wealth, but a long succession of Labour-dominated governments has ensured that the state is rich, but individual Norwegians aren't all that well off. The glut of money goes towards having the most elaborate welfare system known to man and lavishing money on developing countries --- rich man's guilt taken to the extreme. Even if you've managed to amass a fortune as a Norwegian, displaying your riches is very much frowned upon. Nordic protestant mentality. Besides, if you were stinking rich and not afraid to show it, why on earth would you build a mansion in Oslo, with its forbidding climate? The Med is the place to be.
