Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "'I'm being cut off from my family': Finland's Russian community hits out against border closures" video.
They're not out to solve problems. They're just looking out for their own interests. Otherwise they would be protesting in front of the Russian embassy.

Finland becoming a NATO member was the result of "aggression, discrimination and war paths [sic]" -- Russia's, that is.

You should educate yourself. Non-EU nationals with a valid EU residence permit have to commit a serious crime before their permits can be cancelled. Thoughtcrime is no crime in Finland. Also, EU residence permit holders can travel freely within the Schengen area.

@kimmorepo6870 Oh, Finns living in Russia should protest against the border checkpoint closures. They're equally inconvenienced. In fact, everyone inconvenienced by the closures should protest in Russia. Russia is the cause.

@toxa35 The difference between cause and conequence eludes you completely.

@toxa35 A classic. The "no you are" defence. Puerile. Russia is conducting hybrid warfare by pushing migrants across the border. We've seen it all before, at the Polish and Lithuanian borders. Finland specifically prepared for this scenario. Only you are paying dumb. Free English lesson: you're supposed to use the base form of the verb when you prepend it with 'did', as in 'did Russia *invade' or in 'did Russia *attack'. You're erroneously using the past tense in combination with 'did'.

@glebkudr1 Your figures are off. 30,000 Russians and 80,000 Russian-speakers in all reside in Finland. Most are Ingrians, or their descendants, who're well integrated. For a large part, their underage offspring speaks Finnish only, although they're recorded as Russian-speakers on account of their parents' preferred language. It's indicative that Russian is taught in fewer and fewer Finnish schools as a foreign language, because its popularity (if you could ever call it that) has plummeted. You're more likely to find Russian kids attending international schools, where the tuition language is English. In other words, you've lost them to the world. They make poor foot soldiers for neo-imperialist Russia.
