  2. So you're saying Putin has finally learnt his lesson. Let's hope so. But I guess the Kremlin is feverishly preparing propaganda that says the CIA dunnit, the EU dunnit, NATO dunnit -- just to prepare for the worst.

  3. Petros, if a pro-Russian leader had to step aside and his likely successor is neither pro- nor anti-Russia, that must rate as a setback for Russia. Moreover, Ukraine wasn't allowed to be both friends with the EU and Russia, so it's doubtful Armenia will either.

  4. Petros, no two countries are alike, but there are plenty of similarities all the same. Likewise, the Ukrainian and Russian economies were intertwined, and now both are suffering on account of the break-up. In other words, the current conflict makes absolutely no sense from an economic point of view. Geopolitical considerations seem to matter more to Putin, and he's not one to share his "friends".
