Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Electricity prices rise in Estonia after cut from Russian power grid" video.
It's unrelated, silly.

@LapkaKutiapka Sure, welcome to the modern world, where prices are subject to supply and demand. In this case, Russia isn't involved, because it hasn't been supplying since 2022. Something to do with an illegal war of aggression, perpetrated by Russia, in Ukraine.

The spot price of electricity fluctuates. It varies from one hour to the next. Nothing to do with Russia, which has been closed out of the Baltic electricity market for years now. Cold snaps are usually the cause for upswings.

@PaulV. The amusing part is that Russia loses money on the deals. A lose-win situation, in other words. Russia still keeps at it, because it needs the foreign currency for crucial imports. Putin's failure to diversify the Russian economy bites.

Duh, nothing to do with Russia. Don't they bother to brief you Krembots any longer?

Yup, it sounds the death knell for Russian energy exports. We only want carbon-free electricity.

@umang3227 You're the bubblicious one here, dude or dudess, whichever is applicable. Russia most definitely buys Chinese products with yuan that it earns from its (heavily discounted) exports, to the tune of 38% of its foreign trade. You tacitly admit that it's true for exports to India as well, only Russia finds little worth buying in India, hence its glut of rupees. Or are you suggesting Indians exporters don't accept their own (toy?) currency? You're not exactly flattering yourselves here. You "gotta" wake up to the fact that Russia is effectively doing a wealth transfer to India by sacrificing its profits -- and then some -- for your "friendship". I hope you at least use this windfall to lift Indians out of poverty. I've witnessed the latter often enough, as well as the obscene opulence in India.

@niklasnorberg5071 I attach no credence to any claims that come out of Russia. Russia is a habitual liar if there ever was one. We haven't bought (the infinitive form of the verb is *buy, by the way) Russian oil since the first half of 2022. Our electricity is carbon-free and we use a modicum of LNG for industrial purposes only. Speak for yourself -- your politicians may indeed be stupid -- but don't generalise.

@niklasnorberg5071 What is official and for everyone to "se [sic]". Don't be lazy now. Cute emojis. Don't let anyone tell you that they're childish. Treasure that inner child of yours!

@mujur9101 Indonesia? Are you desperately trying to draw attention to yourselves by claiming that you have a very, very fat regent in your Indonesia -- a care-taker monarch, that is, who's the size of a small country?

Because Russia embarked on an illegal quest for Lebensraum, that's why.
1
@prajwal1341 Why do you ask? Out of general interest? Or have you reached that age when a child asks many questions?
1
@prajwal1341 You still make precious little sense.

@gottfriedheumesser1994 No, it depends on what kind of contract you've signed with your electricity provider. I prefer to pay market prices. Whenever I charge my EV or heat the sauna, I check the electricity price. It's second nature.
1
@gottfriedheumesser1994 Ooh, that's quaint. You'd think you have access to modern technology.
1
@gottfriedheumesser1994 Our cooking is electricity only. Heating is district heating, from a nearby biofuel plant. I just had a look -- our projected electricity bill for February is 16.47€. We've steered clear of Russian gas, especially for domestic purposes, knowing from bitter experience how untrustworthy the Russians are. Putin has lost the energy war all right, and it's a permanent loss, too. Going forward, Russia's only hope is selling super-cheap wood chips, but I guess the EU will pass a directive that prevents an increasingly-desperate Russia from cutting down all its forests.

@PatmosEd Duh, Estonia hasn't bought electricity from Russia ever since the latter invaded Ukraine. Your Ministry of Misinformation is misinformed itself!
