Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Switzerland and EU near agreement on cohesion payments, say diplomats" video.
Pay but no say. Strangely, that's how Switzerland (and Norway) want it.

@ZipMapp Switzerland is not the richest country in the world, not by GDP per capita, nor when adjusted for PPP. Luxembourg, which is in the EU, surpasses it in both categories. There goes your argument. By the way, you don't have to be smart or a strategist to check simple stats. They're literally at your fingertips.

@yurinator6380 Taxation without represention is smart, huh? Wars of independence have been fought over the injustice of it all, but already-independent Norway and Switzerland subject to it voluntarily. It beggars belief...

@ZipMapp Liechtenstein is a ministate and it's not in the EU. You're not very good at this argumentation thing, are you? Instead of whining that I don't understand, try to explain what I'm supposedly missing. And how did you arrive at the conclusion that I don't know Switzerland? You're not a logical thinker, I'm afraid.

@ZipMapp No, facts matter little to you. You've ignored or misrepresented them several times in this thread alone. Your newest assertion is also untrue. Switzerland's GDP growth doesn't stand out when compared with similar EU economies. It's no secret that Switzerland balks at some EU policies, but just has to grin and bear it. On occasion, we do, too, but we manage to amend them or negotiate an exemption. For Switzerland and Norway, it's a matter of take it or leave it. Don't do the argumentum ad lapidem thing. It's puerile.

@ZipMapp GDP growth is practically always expressed in percentages. You really don't know the first thing about economics, do you?
1
@ZipMapp Now you've done it and utterly confused yourself. You tried to claim that Switzerland has outperformed the rest of Europe for the last 15 years. That implies brisker GDP growth. In perceptages.
1
@ZipMapp Once again, you're making precious little sense. If not GDP growth, how would demonstrate that Switzerland -- supposedly -- "has been doing a lot better than the nation [sic] that have a say"?
1
@ZipMapp We've been over this already, dum-dum. I explained carefully that Luxembourg bests Switzerland in "raw gdp [sic] per capita" and it's in the EU, which blew your argument out of the water, remember? Most people have so-called pain memory -- recollecting a past negative experience prevents them from committing the same mistake again. You feel no such pain, so you don't learn from your mistakes.

@ZipMapp Oh dear. I pointed out that Liechtenstein -- which you brought up -- is not in the EU, and it's a ministate that "hosts" companies, with hundreds and hundreds registered at tiny one-person offices. It's more a financial construct than a country and entirely irrelevant to the topic at hand, but silly you still keeps bringing it up. And why are you trying to compare Switzerland to the EU as a whole? You should be comparing apples to apples, like I did by pulling in Luxembourg. We would also appear stonking rich from one day to the other if we were to leave the EU, but it would be just a statistical win, and only in the eyes of wishful thinkers like you. I have to say, I've met many bozos on YouTube, but you take the cake -- in the face.
