You don't say. The problem here is that it's legal to come and apply for asylum. Only when asylum is denied, they'll become illegals.

@madridman100 You should study international agreements pertaining to refugees. I assume you're Spanish, so you are most definitely bound by them. The moment a migrant applies for asylum, he or she enjoys protection under Spanish law.

@madridman100 Truth be told, I don't care one iota about what you think, but I do care about the law, and so should you. Rather than spewing hatred and accusing migrants of illegal acts which they're not guilty of, try changing the law. You must have passive suffrage somewhere, don't you?
1
@madridman100 Wouldn't you think it hateful if I were to accuse you of a crime you haven't committed? Come to think of it, maybe you are guilty of a crime: libel.
1
@madridman100 Your disagreement is with the law, not with me. Good luck with that. Best keep your solicitor's number handy.
1
@madridman100 You've made your opinions loud and clear. Still, what matters is the law. According to the law, if they apply for asylum, they are asylum seekers, period. Getting asylum is another matter altogether. Maybe you should rail against migrants who do not apply for asylum, but prefer to stay under the radar. Those are legit illegals. There's a worthy cause for you.
1
@madridman100 Nope, seeking and granting political asylum are enshrined in law. Your moral judgement on the matter is of no consequence -- unless you manage to get elected and change the law.
1
@madridman100 If so, you're in luck. Should you decide to run for office, you can count on the support of "the silent majority". Stop flapping your gums and go for it!

@madridman100 Facts, not views.

@madridman100 For the umpteenth time, your disagreement is with the law. I am absolutely right when it comes to the law, and you're absolutely wrong. Study it, and you'll see the light.
1
@madridman100 You've repeatedly suggested that asylums seekers are illegals and asylum itself is illegal. They're not and it isn't. Also, you seem to be in the mistaken belief that we can have ourselves a vote about whether or not we obey the law. That is not how it works. We can democratically change laws, but applying existing laws is not up for discussion.
1
@madridman100 Shoulda woulda coulda. To repeat ad nauseam, your personal opinions carry no weight in determining the legal status of migrants when they apply for asylum upon entry. Sue Italy, Greece, Spain and Turkey, but you have no legal basis to accuse the migrants of being illegals.
1
@madridman100 You think I'm British? Pfrrt. As I keep repeating, asylum seekers are no longer illegals the moment they apply for asylum. I suppose they could be fined for breaking immigration rules, but that doesn't make them illegals.
