Nah, the UK has looking for more privileges, not reform. In fact, some EU members were prodding Cameron to get a partner in the UK for pushing real reform, but Cameron snubbed them. History will know Brexit as Cameron's Folly.

What did I miss? Did the EU disintegrate then? All I can see is the UK vacillating how to effect Brexit. A slo-mo departure if I ever saw one.

+NaZReD Exclusive privileges don't amount to EU-wide reform. Fact is, people on the continent genuinely did not like how the UK soloed. Opinion polls in France and Germany suggested that their populaces took a dim view of continued British membership, and this was well before Brexit. This explains why there are no cries from the continent for Britain to remain after the referendum. All the remoaning happens on the island.

+Wayne Ronnie That's a shared privilege, not an exclusive one. The UK hasn't borne the brunt of the refugee crisis, not by a long shot. Educate yourself.

+NaZReD Why, do you think the UK is the only net payer in the EU? It's another shared privilege that all the richer EU members get to partake in. It has to do with the fact that the Eastern European countries were set back by the unwelcome attentions of the Soviet Union. The UK let that happen after WW2, even actively facilitated it. One could say it's a debt that needs repaying. But somehow I think solidarity isn't your strong suit.
