@user-wo8Iw9km4w That's one step forward and two steps backward for Russia then. Ukraine's accession may indeed be delayed, but Finland and Sweden did join NATO, and totally in response to Russia's overt military aggression in Ukraine. I think we can label Putin's ill-fated military adventure as counter-productive, don't you agree?

Poppycock, Russia has lost plenty of wars. And this one will add to the list.

@alexnik1181 I have studied history. In recognition of my efforts, they gave me a master's. You? NATO has been keeping the peace admirably. Russia is keenly aware that NATO members are out of bounds. Otherwise, we would've seen many Russian provocations or even an Ukraine-like invasion of the Baltic states. The OSCE found no evidence of Ukrainian aggression. You're beating a dead horse.

@alexnik1181 What exactly did NATO attack here? I must've missed it altogether. Clearly, you haven't studied history. You'd know that facts are crucial in piecing together truthful accounts of historical events. Your fanciful narrative of NATO provocations and interventions simply lacks facts. Historical revisionism, we call it in the trade.

@alexnik1181 I concluded that you haven't studied history because you prefer imaginary events to factual ones. And you didn't elaborate on what relevant academic studies you have concluded -- if any. I asked you specifically after telling about mine, so it's only fair you come clean. Have yourself a nice day in your dank troll cave.

@briancarno8837 Germany still held on to huge swathes of French territory when WW1 drew to a close. Would it be an accurate "military summary" that Germany was a victor in WW1, you think?

@briancarno8837 Duh, you were trying to argue that wars are won by looking at lines on a map. I presented you with a prime example how that was not the case in WW1. Germany's will to fight on collapsed towards the end of the war. In Russia's case, history will repeat itself. Either there's a popular uprising -- which will take time given the Russians' political apathy -- or more likely, Putin meets with an unfortunate accident. Or he manages to flee to North Korea. Anyway, there will be no taste for continuing the war in post-Putinist Russia.

@briancarno8837 Out of arguments, huh? Next time, try a string of emojis to cover your hasty retreat to your troll cave.
