I fail to see how they're mutually exclusive. You wouldn't believe it, but one can walk and chew gum at the same time!

There are laws of war. It is the duty of the civilised world to remind Israel of it. If Israel want to be considered a civilised country, it is expected to protect the lives and property of non-combatants. As for Hamas, they're a lost cause. The path they've chosen -- terrorism -- is the antithesis of the above. Terrorists pick out non-combatants and maximise violence. Israel would do well to minimise violence and take out the combatants only.

His Hamas fighters? If they are indeed Yousaf's fighters, the police should waste no time and arrest him for being a member of a terrorist organisation. Since Yousaf has Pakistani roots, not Palestinian, can I hold you responsible for the crimes against humanity committed by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army? Religion is the link, right?

@barbaraallen435 The Hamas fighters are Palestinians all right, just like Joseph Kony's fighters are Christians. Does that implicate all Christians in crimes against humanity? Think carefully. 58% of the Gazans supported Hamas before Hamas subjected them to Israel's entirely predictable onslaught. The Gazans who do support Hamas are radicalised in that they think -- or rather, thought -- that Hamas is the only Palestinian entity that could make a fist against Israel. The Palestinians on the West Bank are different in this respect. They support Fatah, which has been trying to negotiate -- unsuccessfully -- a two-state peace deal with Israel. And who exactly should the Gazans have called for help? Israel? Netanyahu thought it fun to boost Hamas at the expense of Fatah in classic divide-and-conquer style. Bibi reaped what he sowed.
