@Arangggg As an independent nation, Ukraine was and is within its rights to enter into alliances with other countries as it sees fit. The same applied to new NATO members Finland and Sweden. NATO's expansion is not a cause of Russia's militarism, but rather, a consequence. By the looks of it, Russia fighting NATO expansion just accelerates it.

@RogerMellie-yk3gw Donbassia? I've never heard of such a country. If you have, tell us in detail which countries recognise it and if the UN agrees. Does Russia recognise it, by the way? The propaganda is all yours. You're even at odds with the Kremlin on this.

@RogerMellie-yk3gw I mean the UN's General Assembly, which happens to convene in New York. The UN has had its headquarters there from the onset, because gathering on neutral Antarctica or, say, the moon would prove logistically troublesome. And it's not just about the US; it's about 141 UN members that said clearly and unequivocally "NO!" to Russian imperialism. If Murica has that many countries on a leash, Russia should just give it up and stop playing. You seem blissfully unawares that the Donbas is not independent, not even when looking through Russia's rose-tinted glasses. Russia unsuccessfully tries to convince other countries that the Donbas -- together with its other ill-begotten parts of Ukraine -- are Russian, you dum-dum. Don't upvote your own comments. It's sordid.

It is said that the majority of the Soviet war-time marshals were, in fact, Ukrainian. Also, official Red Army figures have it that ethnic Russians fighting among its ranks during WWII suffered 5% deaths, while the equivalent figure for Ukrainians was 6%. It would appear Ukraine made an even higher sacrifice in fighting back the Nazis. You bots must hate facts.
