@sonofsomerset1695 Economic and political isolation will have a negative effect on the UK's military standing, too. The UK painting itself into a corner is definitely to Putin's advantage. One less adversary to worry about.

@uncaringnousername6801 Don't flatter yourself. If anything, the botched Brexit process has exposed severe flaws in British democracy. Unelected peers in the House of Lords, which is in a position to stop Brexit from happening, the likes of Farage not standing a chance to get elected into British Parliament, while his election into -- of all things -- the European Parliament was a shoe-in. Still you have the gall to suggest you had no say over decision-making in the EU, while the UK was involved every step of the way. Well, chances are that will come true -- May's pay-without-say model may yet be approved, if only because the UK has no better alternatives.

@uncaringnousername6801 Of course you can -- technically speaking -- walk away, but that doesn't appear to be the preferred option on your side of the Channel right now. The odds are stacked against a no-deal Brexit, but there's always a chance that it will happen, accidentally. If I have to make a semi-educated guess, I believe May's days are numbered in single digits. Early elections will bring an uneasy coalition of Labour and Lib Dems to power, who'll scratch Brexit altogether, because the alternative, the softest of soft Brexits, is too silly to contemplate. By the way, you can stop foaming at the mouth, since you're clearly a Brextremist and per definition a minority. But you have my permission to restart foaming at the mouth when Brexit is cancelled. It may console you that I have mixed feelings about that one, too.

@uncaringnousername6801 It's correct to say Brexiteers enjoyed a small majority in the referendum, but I called you a Brextremist. Extremism is never mainstream, but always fringe. In your case, radical fringe. Do yourself a favour and stop referring to yourself in first-person plural. People will think you suffer from megalomania.

@uncaringnousername6801 Brexit does concern me, because chances are that as a taxpayer and a net payer into the EU budget at that, I'll have to pick up your unpaid bills. Then there's the issue raised by the OP -- the negative impact of Brexit on Europe's geostrategic position. We'll have to pick up the slack there, too. Way to go eroding your credibility even further. Not only are you a foaming-at-the-mouth Brextremist, but also a silly conspiracy theorist. Tell me, do you subscribe to your home-grown NWO conspiracy theory according to which Queen Elizabeth is a blood-drinking, shape-shifting reptilian humanoid? Please let it be so -- I haven't come across that kind in years.
