It's slowly but surely headed that way. Germany's KMW has merged with France's Nexter, respectively the Leopard's and the Leclerc's manufacturers. The UK got Rheinmetall to turn the Challenger 2 into the Challenger 3. If the politicians can't consolidate, at least the defence industry is.

The AS90, a game changer? I'm sure they'll be put to good use by Ukraine, but I fail to see how the game radically changes as a result. So far, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Slovakia, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Norway and the USA either have sent or are about to send self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine.

@MarkErikEE It's still more of the same. If conventional artillery was a game changer, the Russians would've long changed the game to their favour. HIMARS, with its guided missiles and superior range, qualifies as a game changer, but the AS90 does not. It's a welcome addition, but the game remains the same.
