If Russia were to foolishly attack either country, they'd mount a vigorous defence in depth, but to push back the invaders, NATO reinforcements will come in handy, especially in the form of air power. Besides, with both in NATO, Russia won't push its luck.

  2. Don't get your hopes up. Croatia wants more political rights for Croats in Bosnia - which aren't for Sweden and Finland to grant -- and Turkey wants F-16 fighters -- which neither makes. Both Croatia and Turkey are bargaining for favours that have nothing to do with either Finland or Sweden.
