@aysenuri2419 Your diplomacy is akin to haggling with a bazaar merchant. It's uniquely your style, in other words. You could do so much better.

@richardploss4494 What has the USA specifically done for Sweden, and -- speaking of new NATO members -- Sweden's eastern neighbour, Finland? It's your ignorance that I have problem with, or to be precise, with your ignoramuses who bombastically flaunt their ignorance.

@crazyralph6386 You deserve your nickname. Sweden gets by fine without Russian energy. Where you born yesterday or are you... American?

@richardploss4494 "nato [sic] is a European defense [sic] policy"? Interestingly, NATO has only once activated its Article 5 mutual defence policy. That was the USA's doing, on account of 9/11. The ensuing fighting took place far away from Europe.

@richardploss4494 So, you're saying that 9/11 wasn't an attack against NATO. Isn't it implied that the US isn't in NATO? The US most definitely invoked Article 5 after 9/11. The rest was procedure, like the Secretary General of NATO confirming that the conditions had been met.

@richardploss4494 Sweden's NATO membership bid doesn't appear to be about Sweden any longer. It's about a reluctant US Congress approving a F-16 deal with Turkey. Sweden is, as your generals would say, collateral damage. It's nice of Finland to let US soldiers train there. By their own admission, they have a lot to learn about conducting military operations in the forbidding climate and challenging terrain. The Russians are more adept at it than you are. Best achieve parity there, because it might as well be Alaska that Russia will attack next. In Russia, some feel Alaska should be theirs again.

You're not well versed in Turkish politics. There's still a parliamentary vote and after that, Erdogan's final say-so. Turkish parliament is a mere rubber stamp. Erdogan may well make it stall or even reject the proposal. I'm sure he'll deplore it publicly and blame democracy.
