Switzerland is not facing any existential threats. Ukraine is.

@F-om1jx The Russian Empire collapsed as a result of WW1. The Soviet Union collapsed as a result of the Soviet-Afghan War. I can see the writing on the wall for the Russian Federation and this war.
10
Tired clichés don't make good botting. I'm afraid you only get half a potato for that.

@shenjiejason8350 No, it's an example of failed economic management by the CCP. Sure, unbridled capitalism can mess up any country. That's why developed countries have extensive checks and balances in place. China is still underdeveloped in that respect.
9
I'm an earthling and I think Wagner sucks. Ergo, everyone on earth thinks Wagner sucks.
9
@GeeGee19 You're funny. I thought you could tell that I'm not exactly enamoured with personality cults, but then you suggest I'm jealous? As a matter of fact, I hold the notion that politicians and babies' diapers are alike. Both need to be changed often, and for the same reason. Try to get a room with Trump, or failing that, Elon.
9
I see things are getting desperate over there. Has the troll farm cut your wages again?
9
But what you fail to appreciate is the extent to which the Chinese go. It would be economically unfeasible to do the same elsewhere, but in the PRC, money is no object if it glorifies the CCP.
9
@evolassunglasses4673 Sure, Roman salute, too. The Fascists specifically drew inspiration from the Romans, including their name, which comes from the Roman fasces. The outstretched arm and the chest-thumping, it's all part of it.
9
Ahem, the declaration was watered down till all G20 members could just about stomach it. That's exactly the sort of thing that is typical for these summits. Also, the problem wasn't the "West", but rather, the "East" -- Russia's overt military aggression in Ukraine and the evasiveness of the "East" in the matter. Tell us in all honesty, should India negotiate about Kashmir and Ladakh? Should Pakistan and China respectively invade India in order to get India to the negotiating table? Is it Indian policy to reward aggression, or does it only apply when another country is subjected to it?
9
It's as if the Russians peed all over the drone. Pervy.
9
@grimaffiliations3671 I'll have a go. Bolsonaro was an eco-disaster personified. His anti-vaxxer antics caused a lot of unnecessary deaths. Brazil suffered diplomatic isolation as foreign leaders gave the man wide berth. Democratic instutions suffered and political polarisation worsened. All in all, Bolsonaro did a lot of deconstruction, but little construction. Not a very constructive leader, in other words.
9
@onemoresmartone You offered nothing in defence of your viewpoint. We'll just have to file your comment in the bit bucket.
9
Your constant nuclear sabre-rattling is getting old.
9
Their ranking was shown at 0:11, 158th place. Really embarrassing, if you ask me.
9
You've got it backwards. Israel is calling the shots, not the US.
9
It's a small price. Giving the finger to dictators (and one-party dictatorships) is priceless.
9
@mayerseyer3109 Religious tyranny, you say? Sounds like your right-wing evangelicals.
9
@freespiritable Rather, conspiracy theorists such as yourself take their share. Let us know about any EU-level corruption cases involving cohesion funding. In case you don't understand how it works, the onus is on you to provide proof.
9
Internationally recognised and accepted? Hogwash. They'll have to rebrand, and without the brand recognition, they'll have to start from scratch. With saturated markets, failure is a foregone conclusion.
9
@ftu2021 I think you just lost your VPN privileges. Or your social credit score took a nosedive.
9
China is not a poster child for moral values. The opposite, more like.
9
I'm not concerned. If the US were to ignore EU interests, the EU would accelerate plans to form a military alliance of its own, to the detriment of NATO and hence, the US. Many feel this is already long overdue. Let's face it, NATO has historical baggage and its biggest member, the US, is prone to military adventurism.
9
@princessanineveh Yup, we built schools and offered humanitarian aid -- mainly to improve the plight of girls and women -- in Afghanistan to the tune of 1 billion euros. Thanks for asking.
9
@MWENDA-vv5im Be that as it may, Russia can lower another coffin, that of the CSTO, in the same grave.
9
@mnro123 What's ridiculous about taking resolute action against corruption?
9
No, why do you ask? Are you a n00b to democracy?
9
Varaha Shakthi You have something in common with the Chinese. Who would've thought?
9
@JackTenrec-qk4zp Alas, Turks living in Europe don't make Turkey more European.
9
@ultonian63 The statute of limitations doesn't apply to treason, so hopefully they'll stay out of Ukraine, too.
9
@mynjeri5469 The arms race and the Soviet-Afghan War ruined the Soviet economy and spelled the end of the USSR. The war in Ukraine is proving far more costly to Russia than the former did to the USSR. Plus the economic sanctions are taking a huge bite out of the Russian economy. And you think the European economy, which is nearly ten times as big as that of Russia, will collapse first?
9
@gdiwolverinemale3rd There you have it. US Constitution. It's not like the UN Charter, which is an international document, and as such bound to use internationally accepted terminology instead of esoteric oddities. You're right about one thing, however. It does seem like US democracy has eroded. The Economist Intelligence Unit, famous for its Democracy Index, has long since recategorised the United States as a 'flawed democracy'.
9
Putin was pissed with Erdogan making him wait, so he had to act out.
9
Of course you can. There are precedents aplenty.
9
Hypocrisy, the standard counter-argument to any criticism towards India. But tell me, is there an admission there, and you think your vague whataboutism constitutes a mitigating factor?
9
@princejayntinda9348 You're advocating protectionism and effectively isolationism, too. You're perhaps forgetting that tariffs always trigger counter-tariffs. It's like the OP insinuated, Trump might as well have increased sales taxes for Americans.
9
Why single out the US? 99 other UN members deemed the Crimean referendum invalid.
9
@alphaclot302 Ukraine is fighting a defensive war, in full compliance with the UN Charter -- which Russia broke, by the way. Therefore, the EU/NATO is entirely within its rights to support Ukraine in any conceivable manner.
9
@miloszforman6270 Nonsense. Putin stoked unrest in East Ukraine. He tried to use Ukraine's containment efforts as justification for a full-fledged war against Ukraine, but he has failed spectacularly. A whopping 141 UN members condemned Putin's war, while only a pitiful 5 supported Russia. And still you're trying to peddle Putin's lies.
9
@Writeous0ne The T-72 reached the end of the road a long time ago in terms of design life. The end-of-the-road T-90 and the woulda-coulda-shoulda T-14 are testament to that. The Leopard 2 has a lot of life left in it, like the KF51 Panther upgrade shows. You sound like a WW1 general who dismissed the tank as a fad. Tanks vs. anti-tank weapons will always be a race. Tank armour became resistant to HEAT and HESH rounds, and drones and top-attack missiles will be defeated with APS.
9
You're right, I suppose no fragile egos were hurt this time.
9
@mr.metallic5310 I think it's Putin that is fighting for dear life, at least in a political sense. Russia can still save itself -- if it divests itself of Putin. Save itself from itself, that is.
9
I see it differently. The PRC has usurped a monopoly on the BioNTech vaccine that covers Taiwan. If don't know if you're an adult, but if you are, you wouldn't be happy with your parents regaining guardianship over you, right? This amounts to the same thing.
9
They're birds of a feather, Hamas and Netanyahu.
9
Firm Buttocks No, but incest may explain your learning difficulties.
9
You may want to flesh out that bold assertion with arguments. I see an increasingly isolated Netanyahu, whose political career is drawing to an end owing to a string of miscalculations, the gravest one being his confrontational politics vis-à-vis the Palestinians, which have led to this situation.
9
It's a grand idea to save Africa from China's evil clutches. Africans have seen presidents-for-life rule them with an iron fist for decades. Now that they've made some democratic progress, Xi Jinping -- China's iron-fisted president-for-life -- comes to undo it.
9
Maybe you can enlighten us about Ukraine's role in the colonisation of SEA. Come on, don't be shy now.
9
You approve of vague whataboutism, that's for sure.
9
Yet sometimes they're hiding in plain sight, and you refuse to see them.
