  2.  @gabenewell3955  Russia and China are both authoritarian states and they've seen strongmen arise in Putin and Xi. The cults of personality are there, too. Dictator is just the right word to describe the both of them.

  3. But as we've seen on many occasions, Russia isn't keen on China copying its weapons. Russia needs arms exports to stay afloat economically and China is very much a competitor there. You don't give competitors a leg up.

  4.  @leedonghae435  It is an issue. Russia and China are very much competing for the lower end of the market, in Africa, for instance. When China's quality and services improve, Russia will inevitably see a substantial drop in its market share.

  6.  @yug5156  That's nothing. Saddam Hussein secured 100% of the vote. Do I need to mention that Saddam was a dictator, too? Be that as it may, but how exactly is Biden of relevance here? I thought we were discussing Putin and Xi. You wumaos always get sidetracked by the US. It's like reductio ad hitlerum -- would reductio ad americanum be the correct term? Maybe I'll just keep calling it whataboutism.

  7.  @yug5156  I have no idea which survey you're referring to and, it seems, you can't put your finger on it either. Anyhoo, by "vote" I inferred election, be it in this case Saddam's show election of 2002, in which he supposedly got 100% of the vote. FYI, an approval rate poll and a free and fair election aren't quite the same. If the election precedes the poll and the election is closely contested, voters aren't likely to express approval for the candidate they didn't vote for. That's true for Biden, who clearly hasn't had a good run either. Needless to say, Xi wasn't chosen in a free and fair election. As far as the Chinese are concerned, it's no different than if you were to travel to Staphorst and asked the villagers if they supported god.
