  1. Not true. France won the Anglo-French War (1778–1783), which paved the way for US independence. Then there were the wars of the First (1792-1797) and the Second Coalition (1798-1802), which both saw France emerge victorious, with Great Britain on the losing side.

  5. Taking on the French means taking on the EU, which would mean economic suicide for the UK. A trade bloc will retaliate en masse if one of its members is targeted. Didn't you get the memo?
