Who're you kidding? China has a high tolerance for authoritarian regimes -- a preference even. After all, China is no better in that respect. China will do nothing about the Myanmar coup.

@brusselsproutboy7005 The numbers don't lie. Biden achieved a narrow victory over Trump, who was perfectly OK with giving democracy a miss. The disease didn't prove fatal, but it isn't cured yet either. Are you trying to say that military might goes hand in hand with democratic credentials? The Soviet Union was uber-militaristic, yet undemocratic to the hilt.

@brusselsproutboy7005 Your reasoning baffles me. You're saying that the Soviet Union wasn't a democracy because it wasn't a global military power? If the US isn't lacking in military might and its reach is global all right, then why is it officially deemed a flawed democracy? Norway is considered the cream of the crop in a democratic sense. The Norwegian military, while an effective force, is hardly mighty or global. You're trying to establish a connection where there's none.

@brusselsproutboy7005 You keep claiming there's a correlation between military might and democracy without providing any evidence in support of your (wild?) theory. I, on the other hand, keep coming up with examples that show it's not borne out by reality. Yes, the US is deemed a flawed democracy (google "democracy index" if you refuse to accept my word for it) and yes, your military is the largest, at least by expenditure. In the light of the above, you should feel terribly cheated.

And you feel it was a great triumph because you have the biggest military-industrial complex in the world. Get help for your megalomania.
