Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Finland closes all but its most northern border crossing to Russia due to migrant influx | DW News" video.
Because there's a no man's land, as it were, between the Finnish and Russian checkpoints. Russia has no qualms about letting them die there, but Finland is a civilised country.

They're not from "Russian jails and prisons". Most have valid visas for Russia, and have been living there for some time as students and whatnot. Those with expired visas are fined and then booted across the border.

Before Putin went nuts, we exported plenty of food products to Russia. Interestingly, when all Russian products were pulled off our supermarket shelves, hardly any empty spaces were left. Gherkins turned out to be Russia's biggest export item. And some candy, but only Western brands that were made in Russia because of the cheaper labour. That ought to give you an idea of the "attractiveness" of Russian food products. Of course, your prices are lower, but so is your purchasing power -- much lower than ours, in fact.

What makes you think Russia lets through mobilised reservists or conscripts as it is? Undoubtedly, some will risk illegal border crossings, but those won't happen anywhere near the border checkpoints that were or are being closed.

@WednesdayFin86 There's a DMZ of sorts between the border checkpoints. Have you been? I have. Korea, too.

@TheKakan1337 You have a unique definition of "defensive war". The reality, however, is that a very clear majority of UN members regards Russia as a military aggressor. Yours is a very small minority. Good to hear from a Russia sympathizer that you think Russia isn't able to produce weapons of its own. I wish it were true. But we'll get there eventually. For your info, the EU is not extending loans, but donating funds -- and weapons -- to Ukraine. Don't make up stories

Don't you want to go party in Tallinn?
