  2. If Russia shuts the taps, its life blood stops flowing. Without revenue from oil and gas exports, Russia's woefully undiversified economy will grind to a complete halt.

  3.  @TheThazzY  I'm pretty sure they can't survive on Chinese oil and gas exports alone. The Russians are struggling with low oil prices as it is. The Chinese being Chinese, they can't resist a good bargain, even if it's a win-lose and loser is a "friend".
