Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Russia refuses to hand back more than 500 leased airplanes | DW News" video.
Theofil Stratilat China has already made it clear that it's not trans-shipping spare parts to Russia. China doesn't want to risk being sanctioned itself. The same goes for Turkey.

Hans Otto Kroeger Kaethler Simple-pimple. An Irish lessor could get a local court order for the seizure of a "Russian" aircraft that lands in China or India. Especially China is bound to comply, because it has nearly as many aircraft leasing companies as Ireland. If there's no reciprocity, the customers of these Chinese companies could just leave their bills unpaid, because there are no consequences.

You didn't watch the video. They're soon worthless for international use, and there are way too many for domestic needs. It's as if Russia is sitting on fresh produce that's starting to go putrid.

@ameyapotdar461 Newsflash, the West has been sanctioning China ever since the Tiananmen Square massacre. The sanctions concern a military embargo, which is in place to this day.
2
@ameyapotdar461 Yes, Captain Obvious, but no one's suggesting that China should face sanctions anywhere near as severe as those imposed on Russia. On Tiananmen Square, China turned its weapons on its own people, so in response, the West embargoed exports of military kit to China. Did all trade cease then, you think?

There will be repo men waiting with a local court order.

@satyabratachatterjee1938 Ever since the Soviet Union fell apart, Russia has struggled to (re-)diversify its economy. For decades, it's been a common refrain with Russian leaders that Russia will improve, but it always comes to naught. Maybe this time, simply because it has no other options, Russia will become slightly more self-sufficient. If so, what we'll see will be the equivalent of Soviet-era aircraft. Unreliable, inefficient and thus uncompetitive. Only hard-up customers in Russia, North Korea and Cuba will buy them and in very moderate numbers at that. My Indian colleague assures me that all Indian Putin fanboys are Communists. Well, are you?

@guillermoelenes4310 News-google for yourself. Or are you digitally handicapped?

@ameyapotdar461 OK, CCP apologist.

@alru4407 Russia could also resume the production of Imperial Russian aircraft. I just read that the record-breaking Ilya Muromets could carry 16 passengers.
1
@alru4407 No, it's because Russian products weren't competitive. The same phenomenon still plagues Russian manufacturers. Not even Russians buy Russian products if they have a choice in the matter. You don't understand what a market economy is about, do you?
1
@JamesSmith-ij8nj I see you understand very little of the aviation business. It's extremely regulated. Did you even bother watching the video?
1
@JamesSmith-ij8nj Low life? If the shoe fits. It was all very carefully explained in the video. You seem to have a comprehension problem, but not to worry. Try watching it again, but this time, with the playback speed set to 0.5.

Hans Otto Kroeger Kaethler Why-oh-why would you bring up the US all of a sudden? This is mostly between Irish lessors and Russia. The US is a bystander. China has to comply with international law if it chooses to play an active part in the international community. Sure, it can isolate itself like North Korea and now, Russia, but that's economically disastrous.
1
Hans Otto Kroeger Kaethler As a Euro, I'm not interested in your eternal US whataboutism. Besides, Airbus has a much bigger share of the Russian market than Boeing.

@TaipoRoad Wrong thread, mate.
