Do you honestly think Zelenskyy is putting his faith in China? China brokering peace is a long shot, because it's in China's interest that Russia grows weaker and more dependent on China.

China is salivating at the thought of exploiting Russia's resources to its heart's content. The weaker and more isolated Russia is, the easier it becomes.
