  1. I'm afraid you're uneducated about Europe. Ministers without a seat in parliament aren't exactly unheard of on the continent either. The federal government of notoriously ungovernable Belgium has no less than four unelected ministers and two unelected undersecretaries. Belgium must be absolutely brilliant in your mind.

  4.  @turlstreet  Thank you for that informative lecture about DW. Necessary, too, because I always thought DW stood for Don't Watch. You freed me of my nagging guilt! Myself, I've lived in half a dozen European countries and speak five different European languages. While us continentals do have knowledge gaps with regard to the UK, the reverse is truer still. It's not for nothing that we considers you Brits the Americans of Europe. Like with the Yanks, ignorance never prevents you from speaking out on a matter. Also, generalisations are never far off. It's all too complicated for you, so you lump us together.
