  2.  @puraLusa  It's likely that abortion will be included in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. If so -- or rather, when so -- it will as binding as the treates that underpin the EU.

  3.  @danamania150  The USA is a federation, the EU is not; rather, it's a supranational union. EU members enjoy a far greater degree of self-governance than US states do. The fact that the right to abortion is likely to be elevated to de facto constitutional status in the EU doesn't negate the fact.
