  1.  @dimitrimorakhovski5287  Well, once independent, the Baltic countries left Russia in the dust economically, too. Nothing to do with Soviet benevolence -- something about the Balts being more industrious. If the Baltic countries hadn't endured Soviet occupation for close to 50 years, they would be on par with the Nordic countries. On a side note, it will be interesting to see how independent Amberland (present-day Kaliningrad) will fare in the future compared to Rump Russia. Or how Ingria (Leningrad Oblast) will do. I'm optimistic.

  2.  @dark_master_Makei  How so? Their GDP per capita easily trumps that of Russia. You must be green with envy.

  3.  @dark_master_Makei  Wrong. In terms of GDP per capita adjusted for PPP Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania still surpass Russia, all three of them.
