  10.  @thotmorgana  Yesilgöz already made it clear she won't enter into a coalition with PVV if Wilders becomes PM. Wilders can't let her become PM instead without major voter backlash. I find it hard to believe that Omzigt will go for PVV either -- he's not that desperate and he's got alternatives. It will be an interesting anti-PVV coalition, but it's not a unicum. Left and right have come together before in Dutch politics. Formation will take ages, but I expect they'll hammer it out.

You went and edited your first comment to correct the fact that you erroneously claimed that the left reigns supreme in the EU, while it's clearly the centre-right that dominates. And the chancellor bit, as if the EU had a chancellor as its head. While at it, why didn't you delete the whole chain? Less embarrassing that way.

  12.  @Bols847  I guess that if you have no self-respect, you have nothing to lose. There we go again. There's no "reigning coalition in Brussels". There's a centre-right majority in the European Parliament. Its *president, Roberta Metsola, is centre-right. The *president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is centre-right. The *president of the Council, Charles Michel, is centre-right. I was oh-so right when I noted that EU politics wasn't your forte.

  14. The irony is that he could've been tolerated as a junior coalition partner by the VVD and/or the NSC, but now that's off the board. In hindsight, Wilders must wish he could've sabotaged his campaign a bit, like Omtzigt did when he vacillated about becoming PM.

  15.  @guill90  The VVD has already ruled out a coalition government with Wilders as PM. What remains for the PVV? The opposition. It's not ideal for a proud democracy like the Netherlands, but when only poor alternatives exist, the least poorest is still best.

  18. Yesilgöz made it very clear beforehand that the VVD wouldn't join a coalition government with Wilders as the PM. I think the same will apply to the NSC. PvdA-GroenLinks, never ever. By winning, Wilders painted himself into a corner. Better luck next time, Geert.

You would like to move the goal posts because to your credit, it has dawned on you already that the PVV isn't scoring. Most of your ilk are still in denial.

Yolanda Diaz is a member of Sumar, a far-left party that forms a coalition with Sanchez's centre-left Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. I trust you know what a coalition is?

Had the PVV gained second or even third-most seats, his party could've been accepted as a junior coalition partner. Yesilgöz already ruled out being subordinate to PVV and I highly doubt the NSC is going for it either. PvdA–GroenLinks for sure not. What remains? The opposition.
