@Shlevel You forgot about China's and Russia's backyard colonialism. Both greatly expanded at the expense of their neighbours, and continue to occupy their territory. The Uyghurs, Chechens, Circassians and Tibetans can attest to that, just to name a few subdued peoples.

@sarahdawson9339 Not true. The colonial powers of yore have decolonised long since, or are stuck with pesky little island colonies that refuse to decolonise. Russia still keeps major colonies, and so does China. China also dabbles with neo-colonialism. Russia tries very hard in Ukraine, but is failing.
