@giantsashavor7809 The Winter War saw a casualty ratio of 5:1. To the detriment of the Soviets, of course.

@giantsashavor7809 The Soviet Union painstakingly managed to subdue Finland with vastly superior firepower. Russia tried the same tactic in Ukraine, but a six-letter acronym ruined everything. Finland received very little in terms of practical help. Sweden deserved kudos, but despite lofty promises, the rest sat on their hands. Fortunately, Ukraine has the backing of the civilised world.

@RuskiVanka Go peddle your historical revisionism elsewhere. Your memory is like a wind vane.

@RuskiVanka I have a masters in history. I very much doubt you could ever teach me anything about anything. Scurry back to your troll cave already.

@RuskiVanka You trying to pass off Finland becoming a grand duchy of Russia as a liberation is just ludicrous. In 1809, Russia was faced with a hostile population, which only begrudgingly accepted the status quo in exchange for autonomy. It's telling that whenever Imperial Russia tried to dial back Finland's autonomy, anti-Russian sentiment grew stronger each time. Uprisings where constantly brewing for the 100 or so years that Finland remained part of Russia. Even if Imperial Russia hadn't imploded in 1917, there would've been a war of independence all the same. In case you can't figure it out for yourself, nothing of the above spells "liberation".

@MidnightMark12 Aren't you looking like a complete n00b. You need to read up on shadow banning.

@MidnightMark12 No, dum-dum, I don't see it.

@MidnightMark12 Ukraine is getting a nice Christmas present all right, but no prizes for guessing that Russia is getting a lump coal. I can't help but notice that you had another comment deleted. Better be on your best behaviour from now on.

There's some ambiguity about Russia's permanent seat on the UNSC. The UN Charter still lists the Soviet Union as a permanent member. In other words, no formal succession was ever agreed upon. It indeed is time to re-evaluate the composition of the UNSC. At any rate, Russia has proven itself unworthy of a permanent seat.

@chiztruth21 There's no legal ambiguity with regard to the UNSC and the USA. Furthermore, it can argued that Ukraine is just as entitled to the ex-USSR UNSC seat as Russia.
