Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "How will China react to the UK's Hong Kong BN(O) visa scheme? | DW News" video.
The CCP has a lot of undesirables these days. Maybe a reason to look in the mirror?

They seem very upset. Explain that.

@maxcc2501 So you think you do, try to explain. Don't be shy.

Here's an idea. Why don't you hop over to mainland China? There, you can experience the full love of the CCP.

@davidnoelfranks1124 BNO holders. Try to keep up with the news.

@asemaq The Hongkies have a higher GDP (PPP) per capita than the Poms. Mate.

@worldgonecrazy Party members? Sure, Communist ideology is what Hong Kong needs to make up for losing skilled workers and capital. They'll outnorthkorea North Korea.
2
Collin Grayham Since when has UKIP been in government? You're living in a world of make-believe.

Donna Duns How embarrassing. You don't know your own history. Slavery in China goes back to 1600 BC, to the Shang dynasty. There were no Brits then.

@maxcc2501 "This move seriously infringes on China's sovereignty, grossly interferes in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs, and seriously violates international law and the basic norms of international relations," said foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian. Zhao seems very upset.

Canada has also made special visa arrangements for Hongkongers. Can the last one to leave switch off the lights?
1
Unemployed Brits will have to. The Hongkies will take the high-skilled jobs that go unfilled otherwise.

I'm starting to see similarities with the boat people fleeing Vietnam. I suppose the direction is reversed now.
1
David Tao Why bring the UK into this? They're not part of Hong Kong's future.
1
@qaz120120 There's still a border of sorts. South of it, the CCP has still hurdles to surmount before they can implement real China-style authoritarian rule.
1
David Tao I'm not stopping anyone. I'm advocating that the CCP leaves Hong Kong be and lets the Hongkongers decide what kind of society they want to build. What's certain is that they don't want it to mirror China. Embarrassingly, the CCP has to deprive them the vote to prevent it from happening.

David Tao The territory belongs to whoever lives on it. If the Hongkongers feel they're not part of China, so be it. Whoever doesn't identify as a Hongkonger, can leave -- not the other way around.
