More like, in Bakhmut, Russia lost the strength to resist Ukraine's upcoming counter-offensive.

@Manntashsh-Pyrre34 I don't know where you're going with this. Ukraine signed the Belovezha Accords, but never became de jure a member of the CIS. Is that your beef with Ukraine? Also, I don't understand why you think Crimea(?) doesn't belong to Ukraine on account of it "not fulfill[ing]" the Belovezha Accords. Moreover, if you think Poland, Romania and Hungary have legitimate claims on Ukrainian territory, what business is that of Russia? As sovereign states, they can sort out their own affairs directly with one another -- if need be with the help of the UN, but Russia is surplus to requirements. You seem to have a unique interpretation of what's "fair" and you expect everyone to abide by that. That brings up the question: who made you God?

@ИнферноСРБ Yes, Ukraine has suffered casualties as well. At a ratio of 1 Ukrainian for every 5 Orcs.

@araara4746 The Russians abandoned their positions near Kharkiv running for their lives. In military terminology, it's called a rout. Kherson was a more organised Russian retreat, but still one dictated by desperation. Sun Tzu would've been very proud of the Ukrainians.

Realising that there's no hope of achieving his objectives, Putin might finally come to his senses and pull his Orcs out. That rates as a defensive victory as well -- and that's what Ukraine is aiming for.
2
The "Western Forces" will first have to get there, won't they?

@hzmt12 Actually, "robot" comes from the word "robota", which means "serf labour". It's an apt description of what our ever-present Putin bots do for a "living". Language is a living thing. Words take on new meanings all the time. Try to keep up with the times.

@duncansmith7562 It is menial labour, my learned bot friend.

@Manntashsh-Pyrre34 Ahem, sovereignty implies that a country can strike alliances as it sees fit.
1
@Manntashsh-Pyrre34 No, you still haven't managed to explain how Ukraine -- in your strictly personal assessment -- broke the Belovezha Accords and why that -- again, in your unique assessment -- forfeited them Crimea. For your information, Russia hasn't been appointed God either.
1
@Manntashsh-Pyrre34 I think we're the ones who've been very patient with you. To go straight to the point, which articles of the Belovezha Accords was Ukraine in breach of and which articles in it corroborate your claim that in doing so, Ukraine forfeited any part of its sovereign territory? Remember, I have no use for your fanciful theories on what's implied. Just quote the relevant articles word by word and we'll take it from there. I think you're just buttsore that Ukraine slipped out of Russia's ever-shrinking sphere of influence and now you're grasping at straws to find reasons why Russia is entitled to act out.
1
@Manntashsh-Pyrre34 OK, you failed to prove your point. You can't quote the relevant articles in the Belovezha Accords, simply because they're not there. Case dismissed.

Russia can only stare in awe at Ukraine's successful counter-offensives.
1
@dracoboomin6511 It's been widely reported and it fits the picture. Firstly, attacking troops suffer more casualties than defending ones. Secondly, the poor tactics displayed by Russia suggest the ratio is even more lopsided than usual. I mean, what are the Russian commanders thinking? The 39th time is the charm?
1
@imperium_vox Aw, I can tell you're pouting behind that knight's costume of yours. Go trick-or-treating.
1
@dracoboomin6511 Of course, there are exceptions to the rule. Artillery, too, has more effect on exposed attackers than dug-in defenders. I've been attached to an artillery regiment as a reservist for the last fifteen years. What are your credentials?
1
Why don't you pretend that the Heavenly Host -- the biblical army of angels -- is also fighting on Ukraine's side? When you start lying, why stop?
1
@duncansmith7562 Oh, but Russia is getting destroyed -- economically. The sanctions and oil price cap are biting something fierce. And Ukraine will be rebuilt. Russia I'm not so sure about, unless you agree to become China's northernmost province.
