  6.  @issasidou8161  Duh, Russia needs to flog its oil and gas to get by economically. Its best customers have flocked elsewhere and are turning their backs on hydrocarbons. Without money, Russians will have to revert to subsistence farming.

Russia has no choice, because it needs foreign currency and Chinese yuan in particular to keep afloat. Uh, we don't need Russia. Russia has a poorly diversified economy, in stark contrast to that of the EU. Putin always promises to diversify, but there's little indication that he's making significant headway. Now with sanctions in place, Russia can't get loans or attract foreign investors, to say nothing of the Western technology needed for such a transformation. I told you already, Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country.
