Priceless.

@masakitonguba8919 It bears reminding that Ukraine has the support of 141 countries in its bid to ward off Russia's attempts at forcibly changing the government in Ukraine, including that of your Philippines. Russia has a pitiful 3 backers left, down from 4. One, Syria, just had a change of heart.

This time, the break-up of the Russian Federation may prove a messy affair, so the defence spending spree may continue even after Russia throws in the towel in Ukraine. As part of the package, we may be gaining new NATO and EU members that need defending against rump state Russia, a.k.a. Muscovy.

@gabrieloricho1028 I thought South Africa was to arrest Putin should we have popped over for the Johannesburg BRICS summit. Something about an extradiction order to the Netherlands on war crimes charges. Also, South Africa didn't believe in Putin's SMO when it came up for a vote at the UN General Assembly. Very few countries did. I counted one African state among them -- Eritrea, an autocracy itself.

China is a party dictatorship, which tend to be more resilient than one man shows. The party will sacrifice its leader in order to prolong its monopoly on power. The Soviet Union also took its sweet time to keel over.

Autocracies are inherently unstable when they lack a popular mandate. Putin mistook the Syrians for his own apathetic citizens. Maybe, just maybe, the Russians are now starting to awake from their slumber.
