  1.  @johnadam2885  So, you're saying Ukraine will regain full control of Ukraine, just like Iraq and Afghanistan are controlled by Iraqis and Afghans respectively. No argument with that. BTW, you made a boo-boo: it's not Americans but Russians who're occupying parts of Ukraine.

  3.  @johnadam2885  You're repeating yourself. You suggested that the outcome of the war will be the same for Ukraine as it was for the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. I noted that the latter two countries emerged from their conflicts with the US with their territorial integrity intact. Ultimately, that's Ukraine's goal as well. So, if you analogy isn't clumsy or false, how does it work? The US was the invader in Iraq and Afghanistan, just like Russia is in Ukraine, and the US withdrew in an unflattering manner from both countries. In your analogy, is Ukraine going to withdraw from... Ukraine? I couldn't help but notice that your analogy does works perfectly if we replace Ukraine with Russia, as in Russia eventually withdrawing from Ukraine and in a highly unflattering manner, too.

We don't make the HIMARS, but we've sent all kinds of military kit to Ukraine, which has put them to excellent use -- against the Russian military as opposed to civilians.
