  1.  @mickeskogen3184  Ask yourself: how was Napoleon defeated in Russia, the USA in Vietnam, the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, etc., etc. Defeat doesn't have to involve capitulation. Russia will eventually retreat from Ukraine. It will count as a defensive victory for Ukraine, and a defeat for Russia.

  3.  @michaelmurphy839  You're confused as to what constitutes a tank. Greece gave Ukraine old BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles and only after Germany 'backfilled' Greece with Marder IFVs. Germany gave the same Marders directly to Ukraine, too.

  4.  @Ephys  By your logic, Russia's T-72s, T-80s and T-90s would all get bogged down in Ukraine. What counts is ground pressure and hp per ton. The Leopard 2 is superior to its Russian contemporaries in both respects.

If that still doesn't ring a bell, imagine a pointy-toed ballerina and a burly skinhead wearing Dr. Martens standing in the mud. Who is lighter? But who will sink deeper? We actually operate the Leopard 2 in the arctic tundra, and before that, we operated the T-72. I'm merely attached to a tank brigade as a reserve signals officer, but I've heard no one demand the T-72 back.
