@sundarmaha7200 China's grand plans for exploiting Afghan minerals and developing Afghanistan's infrastructure have suffered a serious setback, and Beijing knows it, too. Apart from the crazed Islamists -- the Taliban -- there are no winners here.

 @MalcolmXpat The UN-authorized ISAF mission operated in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014. It looks like Afghanistan is beyond saving.

@rusticbox9908 Ahum, I've suggested no such thing. All I'm saying is that China's chances of exploiting their mining concessions Afghanistan have taken taken a turn for the worse. If they haven't been able to exploit them properly for the last 10 years, how is the situation going to change with the Taliban in charge? Let's face it, the security situation will only worsen.

@jaare4202 It's the same as with the Chinese, who've held mining concessions in Afghanistan for considerable time. They've done little with them because of the security situation. Now the security situation has changed for the worse, and it's not likely to improve much under the Taliban.
