@elmersbalm5219 Macron founded a political party and won the French elections with it -- not once but twice -- within 18 months. In case you haven't noticed, the US and the UK aren't really that hot in the democracy department nowadays. The US recently got downgraded to flawed democracy status and the UK has an unelected narcissist trying to muzzle parliament. Still, both are considered to be miles ahead of Russia democracy-wise.

So you're saying Russia sucks less than it did in the 90s. Is there a law of nature that dictates that Russia must always suck -- even if it's a tad less than previously?

@user-0xDEEDBEEF No they don't. Among developed countries, Russia is the pits democracy-wise. In comparisons, Russia even trails China, which is politically still a bastion of Communism.

@elmersbalm5219 Thanks for confirming my point. The US and the UK with their archaic electoral systems aren't setting good examples. That doesn't, however, make Russian poo smell any better.

@elmersbalm5219 You're getting sidetracked there, with your treatise on French colonialism. Mildly interesting, but entirely besides the point. Your premise was that Western democracies aren't capable of political renewal. I proved you wrong.
