The ATACMS is not easily shot down. It's quasi-ballistic, meaning even a S-400 will struggle to shoot it down. We've seen evidence of that already.

@John-hu9qg I just explained to you why the trajectory of the ATACMS is not predictable. There's evidence already from Syria and Armenia that the S-300 struggles to down quasi-ballistic missiles, like the Israeli LORA. The BUK is inferior to the S-300 in many respects.

@John-hu9qg Sink your teeth into this: "[...] ATACMS is a specific "quasi-ballistic" missile with a complex trajectory. [...] This means that while the ATACMS trajectory does assume a ballistic arc to hit the target, the missile also performs a series of rapid and sudden turns and course corrections en route. This is an intentionally designed function of ATACMS, since this behavior makes it extremely difficult to track or intercept the missile, which is why the U.S. Army also calls ATACMS "maneuverable" missiles." No one is claiming that the ATACMS is in a class of its own -- speed- or otherwise -- or cannot be shot down.

The ATACMS is quasi-ballistic, which mean it starts jinking when it approaches its target. Therefore, its trajectory is not predictable, like that of purely ballistic missiles.
