The UK is increasingly marginalised and the USA has lost a lot influence and friends because of Trump's shenanigans. Your "West" has shrunk considerably.

How come? Trump was very critical of the new deal Boris negotiated with the EU. With his comfy majority, Boris will surely get it through parliament.

@michaelutech4786 The EU is better off without the UK. The problem with the UK stems from well before Trump. Don't count on Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary siding with the UK. They showed very little sympathy for Britain during the Brexit negotiations, and this despite numerous British attempts at currying favour with them. You'll find that the Eastern Europeans haven't forgotten how Churchill sold them down the river.

@SaloméBaptistSmith Churchill's passive stance at Yalta allowed Poland to slip into the Soviet sphere of influence. Considering how significantly the Poles contributed to the British war effort, there's no other word for it than betrayal. Sure, Britain is not solely to blame, but the context here is Brexit, not a hypothetical Frexit. Years back, I was involved in delivering new kit to the Polish military. You'd think their resentment towards the Germans overtakes everything, but no, it was the Brits they had singled out. The same applied to the Estonians -- no love lost there either. Best wishes to you, too. You'll need that stiff upper lip more than ever.

@michaelutech4786 I believe the Poles' special bitterness towards the Brits stems from the mistaken belief that friends don't stab you in the back.

@michaelutech4786 I did specifically mention the Yalta Conference. There, Churchill practically gave away Poland to Stalin. His betrayal didn't go unnoticed; there was a motion of confidence in Parliament, a cabinet resignation and thirty suicides among Polish officers serving in the British Army.
