@paulgerg6879 Correction, you're a co-dependent nuclear power. You don't get to decide about their use independently.

Nukes are really ill-suited for today's low-intensity conflicts and ambiguous warfare. Nukes are like carrying a bazooka, while you actually need a flyswatter.
1
Hardly. Their US-made nuclear weapons are at the disposal of NATO. Only in very special circumstances do the Brits get to decide about their use.

Yee Tian So China and Russia have secretly disarmed?
1
Yee Tian Don't be an apologist. Both Russia and China are busily up-arming themselves, if not quantitatively, then qualitatively.
1
Yee Tian OK, we're making progress. Now you're tacitly admitting that Russia and China are up-arming, contradicting your earlier claims. This vid is about the UK upgrading its nuclear arsenal. With your lot, everything must always be about the US. The Yanks already have inflated egos as it is.
1
Yee Tian Do try to keep up with the news. Russia is busily up-arming itself with hypersonic missiles, which cannot be stopped with current anti-missile defences. They needn't increase the number of warheads, since more will get through. You're really a master at deviating from the topic.
1
Yee Tian No, it's not my tax money, silly. There's no question that the UK is up-arming. It says so in the title. You contradict yourself, you can't stay on topic, you make silly assumptions and now you throw up straw men. Your debating skills need some serious work.
1
Yee Tian There you go again, being silly. My tax money *goes neither to the UK nor the US. It bears repeating -- because you keep forgetting -- that we're discussing whether or not China and Russia are up-arming. You keep bringing up the US -- they're irrelevant -- and insisting that the UK is worse than Russia or China. Whatever, but it follows that Russia and China are at it, too.
1
There's a thing called a nuclear non-proliferation treaty, which aims to keep a wider nuclear arms race at bay. Also, you're (conveniently?) forgetting about Russia's and China's vast nuclear arsenals. Just for the sake of clarity, who exactly has suffered nuclear bombing at the hands of Europe? If you're anything to go by, YouTube critics are getting dumber by the day.

@VinnieBoombatz374 I'm curious. How does a modern nation ensure prosperity with the force of arms? That idea went out of the window together with colonialism.
1
@VinnieBoombatz374 Even if you insist on calling that neocolonialism, I don't see prosperity in it for the colonizer. On the contrary, the Iraq War and its never-ending aftermath have proven extremely costly to the US. Politically, too. China's neocolonialism, too, has yet to turn a profit. It's not endearing them to the colonized either, who're now having second thoughts about Chinese generosity.

Don't get overexcited there. Russia's economy is smaller than that of Italy's. The UK, France and Germany easily eclipse both. So about Russia being a superpower: my foot. Also, in military terms, you're conveniently forgetting about NATO. Mutually assured destruction is assured if Russia ever tries to put is nuclear weapons to use.
